White House Elementary students engage in novel lunchtime learning program

Relay for Life is Personal for Coopertown Middle School

The Coopertown Middle School Builders Club sponsored the school’s Relay Week, held April 30 -May 3. This year’s event was in honor of Ms. Patty Dunn, former CMS Cafeteria manager and Mrs. Donna Burney, former CMS sixth grade math teacher, both of whom were lost this year to cancer.

Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee employee Robert Guerard addressed SMS’s morning assembly on Tuesday, May 21, and challenged the student body to make something of their lives by, among other things, developing character, choosing friends who are positive influences and demonstrating respect for others.

East Robertson High School art teacher Jennifer Wolfe, along with students Jessica Rose and Breanna Miller has been accepted for a craft residency by the Appalachian Center for Craft.  The center, located near Smithville, TN, is a satellite campus of Tennessee Tech University in Cookville.

Despite a late spring, agriculture students at East Robertson High School, Springfield High School, and Jo Byrns High School have been diligently working for this day.

All three schools have a greenhouse that is now open to sell plants of all kinds including: flowers, hanging baskets and garden vegetables.

Springfield Coach named PTR High School Coach of the Year

Springfield High School tennis coach Curtis Holland,was named the 2013 Professional Tennis Registry Jim Verdieck High School Coach of the Year as the PTR presented its annual awards recently during the PTR International Tennis Symposium at the Sonesta Resort on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.  Holland has been the Springfield High School Boys and Girls Tennis Coach for 27 years.
